Avenbury sits to the South South East of the town of Bromyard, of which it is a district. The Council comprises of five councillors and their responsibility covers some 200 electorate. The Parish no longer contains a church or any amenities so the Council does not have any areas of responsibility, just the two main villages within the area – Avenbury and Munderfeld.
